What is props hire software?

Props hire software is built for hire houses and in-house props stores — not only for a single production’s list. It holds the stock you keep between shows: locations, periods, materials, quantities, availability, and rates.

The usual split is a show spreadsheet plus a separate store database plus enquiries in email. Catalogues go stale, and sending a hired piece into a production means typing it again. The Props List runs store inventory next to show inventory, so a hire can become a show prop without double entry.

Keep stock internal, or publish a searchable catalogue other users can browse. Receive hire requests, accept or decline them, and hand items into a production with availability kept in sync.
